Outdoor Lighting Review:

1. Add the following notes to each Internally Illuminated Sigh sheet:

“As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code – The internally illuminated sign shown on this page does not exceed the color temperature of 4400K, OLC 501.3.2.”

“24-hour programmable timer installed to comply with the COT Outdoor Lighting Code.

Such sign or notice may be installed within the cover of the time control device such that it is visible whenever the device is set or adjusted, OLC 403.5.2.

Penalties shall not exceed $750.00 for individuals and $10,000.00 for other legal entities.” (Adjust wording as needed for type of lighting to which curfew applies and the applicable curfew time.)

07/27/2026 Signs Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT FROM: Georgia Pennington, Lead Planner
DATE: 07/27/2026

COMMENTS:

1. Sign A appears to be located on a separate parcel, parcel number 140442130. Provide written property owner authorization for the proposed work on Sign A.
2. Revise the plans to provide the height of Sign A from freeway grade to the top of the sign. The plans currently show the overall height from grade; however, the height from freeway grade is required for review of the proposed freeway sign.
3. Revise the site plan to show the property lines, parcel lines, street frontage dimensions, face of curb, setbacks from the face of curb to the leading edge of each freestanding sign.
4. Clarify the full scope of work for Sign D and the fuel canopy. The plans state that new fascia and graphics will be installed on the auto fuel canopy. Clearly state whether any canopy structure, fascia, framing, panels, or supports will be modified, replaced, or added. A separate commercial alteration permit may be required for canopy/fascia work beyond sign installation.
4. Revise the plans to include the full sign area for Sign D. The color striping is part of the logo/sign design and must be included in the sign area calculation, along with the 5R logo and any other sign copy or sign background graphics.
