Codes: Unified Development Code (7A) Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) 600, Tucson-Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC) 2018

1. UDC:
A) I acknowledge the proposed sign is allowed as a monument sign by code, and meets height, setback, sign area. Please provide the following clarifications to the construction, as noted in item 4 below:
2. NEC: all comments addressed, thank you
3. OLC: noted all comments were addressed, thank you

4. IBC:
A) in page 3 of the engineering, in Wind loads, update the typo here to read Category II please.
B) provide section view for the bottom plate / square tube (only top is provided)
C) page 5 of the engineering calcs indicate “check weld of column to base” – infers field welds – check plan and calc to clarify this bottom plate /square tube connection
D) field welds require special inspection
E) clarify anchors for mounting lettering and logo inside to the cabinet face… ? what are TU anchors?
F) Specify how sign cabinetry is mounted to the white structure cabinet – ie. Specifically, the size / type of bolting and typical number used? (add notes to side view / elevation sheet)
G) Specify how the skirt / “base cover” attached? (i.e. epoxy and rivets?) add notes to elevation sheet
F) on sign elevation, footer system shown does not match engineering. Please remove the diagram and add a simple note that says “see engineering for dual caisson and spread footer system”
