Outdoor Lighting Review:

1. Add the following notes to each Internally Illuminated Sigh sheet:

“As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code – The internally illuminated sign shown on this page does not exceed the color temperature of 4400K, OLC 501.3.2.”

“24-hour programmable timer installed to comply with the COT Outdoor Lighting Code.
The means of controlling the specific “off” curfew shall be by a 24-hour timing device that includes stand-by power to maintain the time and program for a minimum of 6 hours. OLC 403.5 & 501.6. “

Provide permanent curfew “off” time sign or notice:
Whenever any curfew “off” time is required by this Code, a permanent sign or notice shall be installed at the time control device stating the required turn-off time. Such sign or notice may be installed within the cover of the time control device such that it is visible whenever the device is set or adjusted, OLC 403.5.2.

Suggested wording is as follows: “Set off time for Sign no later than 10:00PM MST in accordance with City of Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code. Penalty for non-compliance per Outdoor Lighting Code Section 107.4. Penalties shall not exceed $750.00 for individuals and $10,000.00 for other legal entities.” (Adjust wording as needed for type of lighting to which curfew applies and the applicable curfew time.)

2. Add the following to each outdoor digital menu-board sheet:
“As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code the Electronic Message Center as shown on this page shall automatically dim to 200 NITS or less from sunset to sunrise. OLC 501.5.2”.

Additional comments may be provided in subsequent reviews. Code reference: Unified Development Code, Article 7A: Sign Standards, adopted Outdoor Lighting Code, adopted Building Code. 1. This site is in a scenic corridor zone, which requires a 30’ buffer zone from the future right of way line that must remain clear. Please show this buffer and setback on the site plan.
2. Sight Visibility Triangles are not properly displayed on the site plan. Please review section 10-01.5.0 of the Unified Development Code on the requirements for Sight Visibility Triangles and revise site plan to show correct SVTs. 
3. Directional sign does not have set back dimensions on site plan. Please revise site plan to include set back dimensions for directional sign as required per Section 7A.11.33.E.4.
4. Please add the dimension showing the street frontage for the property line along Houghton Rd as that is what will be used to calculate the total allowed sign area for all signage on site. Please note that this site is in a Scenic Corridor and is limited to 1.25 square feet per linear foot of frontage in sign area.
5. North Arrow is missing from the site plan. Please revise and add the North arrow.
6. Please show overall height of signs on elevation drawings from grade to top of sign for each sign.
7. Menu board needs to show the overall height from grade to the top of the sign. Please revise and add that dimension.
8. All dimensions must be in Feet.decimal format not feet and/or inches. For instance, 5’3” = 5.25’. 
9. Please revise dimension of the sign area of the access point (directional) signs N12, N19 to the white border around the sign copy to bring the total square footage to under 3 sq ft as allowed per Section 7A.11.4.E.6 of the Sign Code.
10. Please show the location of the electrical disconnect switch for sign N14.
11. Sign detail sheet for sign N13 is missing from the drawings. Please revise and include this page.
