Add the following verbiage to each internally illuminated sing sheets. All Signs and power supply components are UL listed. NEC 600.3. All Signs shall have UL sticker, manufacturer sticker & Installer sticker, located on the exterior of the sign. NEC 600.4. All dedicated sign circuits shall be labeled. NEC 600.5. A safety lockout shall be provided for all signs where the shut off switch is not directly visible to the sign. NEC 600.6. This sign is intended to be installed in accordance with the requirements of Article 600 of the 2017 National Electrical Code and/or other applicable codes. This includes proper grounding and bonding of the sign, Article 600.7, and location of the disconnect switch after the installation shall comply with Article 605(A)(1) of the National Electrical Code. 2. Provide the number of circuits required and the amp rating of each sign. 3. Provide the amp load rating of each sign, NEC 210.20. Show overcurrent protection of 20A is greater than or equal to the sign amp load, 210.20(A). |

Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed by Tami Goltz. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Additional comments may be provided in subsequent reviews. Code reference: Unified Development Code, Article 7A: Sign Standards, adopted Outdoor Lighting Code, adopted Building Code. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Tami.Goltz@tucsonaz.gov or 520-837-5049. 1. Site plan must show the distance of freestanding signs (including directional signs) from leading edge of sign to face of adjacent Right of Way curb. Site plan must also show Sight Visibility Triangles per section 10-01.5.0 of the Uniform Development code. Lastly, the site plan must show frontage amounts of parcel for both Catalina Hwy and Tanque Verde Rd sides so that calculation of allowable sign area can be determined. Total acreage of lot must be noted on site plan as it is within a Scenic Corridor. 2. All dimension must be in feet.decimal format, not feet and/or inches. For instance, 12’ 6” should be noted as 12.5’. 3. TS-PRM-0426-0140 appears to be a duplicate permit. Please submit a sub records request for withdrawal so that permit review can continue under TS-PRM-0626-00207. 4. TC-COM-1225-02277 and TC-COM-0326-00360 need to be paid for and issued prior to obtaining sign approval. 5. This site is in a Scenic Corridor and must meet the requirements of Section 7A.11.3 of the Sign Code. There is a Scenic Buffer Zone requirement that extends 30’ adjacent to the MS&R future right of way line that is required to be preserved and maintained in its natural state. Please show this 30’ buffer on the site plan. Maximum height signs are required to be no less than 7.5’ behind the leading edge of the SCZ buffer and within 50’ of the right of way line. The sign may be located one foot closer to the leading edge of the SCZ buffer for each foot below the maximum they are reduced in height. This must also be shown on the site plan. |
