1. Add the following verbiage to each internally illuminated sing sheets.

All Signs and power supply components are UL listed. NEC 600.3.
All Signs shall have UL sticker, manufacturer sticker & Installer sticker, located on the exterior of the sign. NEC 600.4.
All dedicated sign circuits shall be labeled. NEC 600.5.
A safety lockout shall be provided for all signs where the shut off switch is not directly visible to the sign. NEC 600.6.

This sign is intended to be installed in accordance with the requirements of Article 600 of the 2017 National Electrical Code and/or other applicable codes. This includes proper grounding and bonding of the sign, Article 600.7, and location of the disconnect switch after the installation shall comply with Article 605(A)(1) of the National Electrical Code.

Outdoor Lighting Review:
1. Add the following notes to each EMB Illuminated Sigh sheet:

“As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code, the Electronic Message Center as shown on this page shall automatically dim to 200 NITS or less from sunset to sunrise. OLC 501.5.2”.

“24-hour programmable timer installed to comply with the COT Outdoor Lighting Code.
The means of controlling the specific “off” curfew shall be by a 24-hour timing device that includes stand-by power to maintain the time and program for a minimum of 6 hours. OLC 403.5 & 501.6. “

2. Provide permanent curfew “off” time sign or notice:
Whenever any curfew “off” time is required by this Code, a permanent sign or notice shall be installed at the time control device stating the required turn-off time. Such sign or notice may be installed within the cover of the time control device such that it is visible whenever the device is set or adjusted, OLC 403.5.2.

Suggested wording is as follows: “Set off time for Sign no later than 10:00PM MST in accordance with City of Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code. Penalty for non-compliance per Outdoor Lighting Code Section 107.4. Penalties shall not exceed $750.00 for individuals and $10,000.00 for other legal entities.” (Adjust wording as needed for type of lighting to which curfew applies and the applicable curfew time.)

Sign Review TS-PRM-0626-00206 1150 N. Country Club Rd. Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed by Tami Goltz. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Additional comments may be provided in subsequent reviews. Code reference: Unified Development Code, Article 7A: Sign Standards, adopted Outdoor Lighting Code, adopted Building Code. 1. New freestanding signs require the use of the last approved site plan. You can obtain this by visiting the Property Research Online website at https://pro.tucsonaz.gov/ and looking through the documents available online or by making a records request. Site plans for new freestanding signs must contain the distance of the leading edge of the sign to the face of right of way curb and the Sight Visibility Triangles as required per Section 10.01.5 of the Uniform Development Code. Site plan also must show frontage length of the parcel for both Country Club Rd and Bellevue Ave.
2. All dimensions must be in foot.decimal format, not feet and/or inches. For instance 12’ 6” would be shown as 12.5’.
3. As an electronic message device the following must be added to the drawings:
⦁ No animation or scrolling allowed.
⦁ Image must stay on screen for at least one (1) minute before changing
⦁ As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code the Electronic Message Center ss shown on this page automatically dims to 200 NITS or less from sunset to sunrise.
⦁ The EMC can not interfere with FCC communications.
4. We need the manufacture of the EMC to write a letter to The City of Tucson that says the following…
⦁ Name of the manufacturer.
⦁ The EMC model number/name
⦁ [EMC Model #] is fully capable of lowering to 200 nits at night.
⦁ [EMC Model #] is FCC compliant.
5. New freestanding signs require sealed engineering. Please resubmit with sealed engineering.
6. Contractor of Record’s name and contact information must be listed on all pages of the drawings and location map.
7. Total height of sign must be shown on drawings, including existing base dimensions.
8. Emergency disconnect switch location must be shown on drawings.
9. Contractor of Record needs to renew business license with the City of Tucson business license with the Business license department prior to permit issuance.
10. In order to ensure compliance with overall allowed sign allowance, please provide an account of all signage, including wall signs for the site.
