Fabricated by others Aluminum façade & LED light with Sign “A”. b. Fabricated by others Aluminum vertical element & LED light with Sign “C”. c. Fabricated Aluminum Awning & downlight with sign “D”. d. Steel bar/column/grid with LED light with Sign “E”. e. Aluminum Canopy/Awning with downlights with Sign “H”. f. Steel bar/column/grid with LED light with Sign “I”. g. Steel bar/column/grid with LED light with Sign “K”. 2. Please remove the items listed above from this sign package. a. Please submit a revision to the structure’s building permit (TC-COM-0925-01745). b. Please ensure to include the lumens related to the LED lights mentioned in item #1 above as part of the Outdoor Light Code analysis and lumen calculation within permit TC-COM-0925-01745. 3. FOOTING DESIGN a. This sign submittal contains the note, “NOTE: New Foundation Provided by GC”. b. The drawings for the permit structure TC-COM-0925-01745 indicates: “Sign company to provide footing/foundation detail information such as dimension of footing, steel plates used, anchors used and their location, rebars used, etc.” c. The detail drawings within the sign permit shows certain footing dimensions, rebars used, anchors used, plates used, etc. However, the detail drawings present within the structure permit shows different dimensions, etc. d. Who will be responsible in providing the correct detail drawing dimensions, anchors, plates, etc for review and approval. e. OPTION: The sign company may provide the foundation/footing design information to the structural engineer of the structure’s building permit. A revision to the permit TC-COM-0925-01745 can be processed/reviewed/approve. 4. Please resubmit. |

Add the following verbiage to each internally illuminated sing sheets. All Signs and power supply components are UL listed. NEC 600.3. All Signs shall have UL sticker, manufacturer sticker & Installer sticker, located on the exterior of the sign. NEC 600.4. All dedicated sign circuits shall be labeled. NEC 600.5. A safety lockout shall be provided for all signs where the shut off switch is not directly visible to the sign. NEC 600.6. This sign is intended to be installed in accordance with the requirements of Article 600 of the 2017 National Electrical Code and/or other applicable codes. This includes proper grounding and bonding of the sign, Article 600.7, and location of the disconnect switch after the installation shall comply with Article 605(A)(1) of the National Electrical Code. 2. Provide the number of circuits required and the amp rating of each sign. 3. Provide the amp load rating of each sign, NEC 210.20. Show overcurrent protection of 20A is greater than or equal to the sign amp load, 210.20(A). |

Sign ‘A’ has exposed Flex LED lights that are not fully internal and opaque to the outside per OLC chapter 5. These lighting fixtures must be included in the outdoor lighting calculations from the building permit as unshielded lights. This will require a revision to permit TC-COM-0925-01745. 2. Show the under canopy light on sign sheet ‘D’ and ‘H’ with a maximum color temperature of 3500K. Please note on the plans that the lighting fixtures shall be full-cutoff, with a maximum color temperature of 3500K, OLC 402.1. 3. ‘E’, ‘I’ & ‘K’ are decorative lighting and must be included in the outdoor lighting calculations from the building permit as unshielded lights. This will require a revision to permit TC-COM-0925-01745. It’s not clear from the details provided if these lighting LED’s are fully internal per chapter 5 of the OLC. 4. The LED Flood Lighting fixture on the ‘Endeavor Order Point Canopy’ on sheet ‘O”, must be included in the outdoor lighting calculations from the building permit as unshielded lights. This will require a revision to permit TC-COM-0925-01745. |

Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed by Tami Goltz. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Additional comments may be provided in subsequent reviews. Code reference: Unified Development Code, Article 7A: Sign Standards, adopted Outdoor Lighting Code, adopted Building Code. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Tami.Goltz@tucsonaz.gov or 520-837-5049. 1. Frontage is calculated incorrectly. Frontage must be based off the building or street frontage that faces the adjacent roadway. The frontage shown in the drawings is the length of the building facing the driveway, not the adjacent street. Please provide the length of the street frontage for this parcel. This site will be allowed 3 sq ft per lf of street frontage that faces Wetmore Rd for total allowed square footage of signs. 2. Signs F & G are incorrectly calculated for sign area. You may either piece each section out individually, each as a separate sign (i.e. “Taco” is one sign, “Bell” is one sign, and the logo as a third) OR you can show them as one whole sign with a signle continuous box around the entire copy/logo. 3. Signs D, E, H, I, K are not signs, they are architectural details with no advertising elements. Please remove these from the sign package and submit a separate building permit. ⦁ Sign P- We need the manufacture of the Digital Display to write a letter to The City of Tucson that says the following... A. Name of the manufacturer. B. The EMC model number/name C. [EMC Model #] is fully capable of lowering to 200 nits at night. D. [EMC Model #] is FCC compliant. |
