COMMENTS:
1. FASTENER USED
a. Both the previously approved drawing and current submitted drawing indicates densglass sheathing over studs.
b. The previously approved drawing called for a SS Thru-Bolts Snaptoggle Anchor.
i. This snaptoggle is the ideal fastener to use on an EIFS on densglass sheathing.
ii. This snaptoggle is able to resist the uplift forces on a 115 mph 3 second gust of wind.
iii. This snaptoggle also works on plywood sheathing.
2. INSTALLATION
a. This is an installation that is over 60 ft above ground.
i. This installation requires Special Inspection.
ii. During installation, the special inspection would have done the following.
1. Inspector verify make-up of the wall/surface the sign is being installed on.
2. Verify with drawing on what fastener to be used.
3. Verify how many fastener specified per letter.
4. Verify how many fastener actually installed for each letter.
5. Torgued each fastener confirming compliance.
6. Field Report is generated.
b. Please have the Structural Engineer in charge (Tony Jacob #66734) review the special inspection field report.
i. Tony Jacob to review the field report.
ii. Tony to confirm, per his structural calculation and detail drawings, the correct fastener was used.
iii. Tony to confirm, the fastener used is able to resist the lateral forces the sign may encounter and is equal to his calculation.
iv. Tony to generate a letter enumerating his conclusion.
v. Tony to seal/sign/date the letter and the field report.
3. Please resubmit.
