For: 8800 E Tanque Verde / scenic corridor zone district
Permit: TS-PRM-0524-00209
Reviewer: H. Thrall (Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov)

Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A, Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) 600, Tucson Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) and International Building Code (IBC) 2018

1. UDC:
A) The property is along a Scenic Corridor (Tanque Verde). As such, a scenic buffer extends 30 feet deep into the site from the property line. The placement of the access point sign is within the buffer. As such, the site size minimum is 10 acres, of which this shopping center appears to be of this size (adding parcels together). provide a plan that confirms that (check Pima county Assessor, and an acre is 43,560 square feet)
However,
B) sign area is max of 3 square feet (revise, this sign proposed is 8)
C) place sign 20' from driveway (show setback from edge of driveway)
D) provide plan that shows the is on private property (i.e. locate lot line) and show the setback from the property line to the leading edge of the sign
E) provide setback from edge of Tanque Verde pavement / face of street curb to the leading edge of the sign
F) no prior permit was found for this shown access point sign - permit for running power and check of it is required
G) light can only come through text and logo, cannot come through any background - provide a night view confirming
H) max height is 4' tall

2) NEC / OLC (update your NEC note to 2017)
A) no other comments, thank you

3) IBC (Update your IBC note to 2018)
A) again, separate electrical permit required to run power
B) provide notations on the footer (i.e. just add notes that concrete, support size)

Recommend using Pima County Assessor's for adding up parcel site area to show acreage.
