UDC 7A. 10.2.B. Chart: A) The location is a multi-family residential apartment complex, which is permitted to have up to 50 square feet of sign area. The application presents two freestanding signs to be installed at the entry feature off of 1st Avenue. Both signs together present a cumulative sign area of 64 square feet. In addition, two monument signs are present at the location; one at Yavapai and 1st and one at Prince / 1st. B) Please revise the application to indicate the maximum total cumulative sign area of 50 square feet for direct permit process. Please note that the removal of the existing sign paneling from the structures at the street corners. Addresses may be installed on the structures. C) Should your client desire to proceed to a master sign program request to exceed 50 square feet total sign area, the signs would need to be designed in a manner that has a base and a top embellishment, which can certainly be done utilizing architectural characteristics of the complex with the stucco / masonry affiliated also on the walls of the sign supports. D) I acknowledge that the sign locations meet code, as do their height and sign type.
