Structural sheet S-1.0: You show a 1.5" x 1.5" x 1/8" square steel tubing as the rail/horizontal structural member shown at the upper/top of the sign. Please submit a calculation showing that this tube size is sufficient to carry the weight of the sign as well as to resist the lateral forces such as the 115 mph wind gust. 2. Structural sheet S-1.0 shows one steel tube rail at the top. Sign drawing sheet 3 detail 3 shows 2 rails, one at the top and one at the bottom that is carrying the raceway. Please coordinate this and correct the drawings to match. The correct rail size shall also be reflected on these drawings. 3. Self drilling screws are used. Provide a structural calculation determining how many of these screws are required to resist the lateral forces such as the 115 mph wind gust and keep the sign attached to the existing curtain wall mullions. Your Structural sheet S-1.0 shows one screw for each attachment location while the sign drawing sheet 3 shows 2 screws per attachment location, Please coordinate the drawings to match and show the proper number of screws for each attachment location as indicated by the requested structural calculation. 4. Please confirm that the existing curtail wall mullions are designed & sized properly to receive a sign exerting certain lateral forces & weight. 5. Please resubmit. |
