Please note the submittal was incomplete and the plan review was conducted using the information presented. Please provide structural engineering calculations and a detailed anchoring pattern for the proposed sign anchorage at each type of wall mounted sign. The submittal must demonstrate that the chosen fasteners (type, size, and quantity) are sufficient to resist wind and dead loads per 2024 IBC Chapter 16. Please provide the following specific information with the next submittal. Specific Requirements related to above. IBC 107.2.7 2. Anchoring Pattern: Provide an elevation view for a typical wall sign showing the exact location and spacing of all fasteners. 3. Calculations: Include calculations for the worst case (largest/heaviest) sign, addressing: A. Wind Load: Calculated based on the local design wind speed as amended. B. Dead Load: Weight of the sign, including internal components (LEDs, transformers). C. Substrate Capacity: Verify the capacity of the fasteners (e.g., expansion anchors, lag bolts, or toggle bolts) when installed into the specific wall substrate (brick, stucco, wood, etc.). 3. Fastener Specifications: Clearly identify the fastener material (must be corrosion-resistant), diameter, and minimum embedment depth. Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed by Tami Goltz. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Additional comments may be provided in subsequent reviews. Code reference: Unified Development Code, Article 7A: Sign Standards, adopted Outdoor Lighting Code, adopted Building Code. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Site plan has the Sight Visibility triangles incorrectly oriented and placed for the entrance/exit by sign H and is missing the SVTs for the entrance/exit for sign G. Please refer to section 10-01.5.0 of the Uniform Development Code and follow the guidelines setforth in that section when displaying the SVTs. Please refer to the Technical Standards Manual, section 10-01.5.0 for showing SVTs on curved roadways for proper alignment/orientation. Signs cannot be located within the SVT. 2. All dimensions must be in feet.decimal format, not feet and/or inches. 3. Please specify which hardware will be used in the hardware mounting chart. |
