Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC, 7A, Sign Standards), National Electrical Code (NEC), Tucson - Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC)

1. UDC:
A) Understood the proposal entails relocation of some of the Starbucks drive thru signs and install of new. All are reviewed as new for technical code purposes.
B) I acknowledge sign sizes and heights proposed are within code allowances, thank you.
C) (UDC 7.4.6.5. and general safety per TFD): label that detached signs will be 1 foot minimum from face of drive thru curb to leading closest edge of a sign structure support, 2’ from any driveway, 18” from any parking space, and 5’ from any fire hydrant

2. NEC/ OLC:
A) provide volts, amps, circuits, shut off switch shown on each sign type construction sheet
B) add standard notes: max color temperature is 4400k
C) add notation that use existing timer and signs shall shut off at midnight
D) add note that all dedicated sign circuits still provided and all sign circuit breakers labeled at power panel
E) add note that all signs shall have UL / MET stickers and manufacturer and installer stickers displayed
F) add notes on applicable sheets that the unit is static display, not digital

3. IBC:
A) engineered plans and diagrams are needed for the break away bar and menu station
B) check all notes on the concrete psi – suggesting less than standard 2500 ?

4) Please clarify if your agency is also relocating the digital menu and canopy station ? If so, please provide all standard notations and engineered plans for that sign as well. And any digital signage has to be hard wired to ethernet (note) or has to be FCC compliant to ensure that it is not interrupting cellular service.
