Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC, 7A, Sign Standards), National Electrical Code (NEC), Tucson - Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC)

1. UDC:
A) Add a larger location plan that shows the street frontage for this overall center on both Pima Street and Alvernon Way for the permit record, please.
B) The frontage along Alvernon is less than 300 feet (lot line) and an existing freestanding sign is located at the southern end of the site. If that sign is going to stay, then to add a second freestanding sign along this Alvernon frontage will require a review and approval under the SDRC process. Clarify if that sign is staying, or being removed, please.
C) The SDRC process requires that a top a middle and a base is provided for a sign 20 square feet and larger, and innovative design is required as part of the process. Please examine the opportunity to add an embellishment to the sign that would correspond to the building materials seen here (i.e. stucco, etc.) and perhaps using some of the architectural style around the sign cabinet as framework? Please see UDC 7A.7.1.E and G.
D) provide overall dimension for the structure
E) provide notes: shall be 2’ from face of driveway / parking lot curbs to leading edge of structure, 5 feet from fire hydrants
F) add the SVT on the plan from the driveway exit adjacent to the sign, and the 20 feet wide stem may be taken from the travel lane line, and run 345’ long, thank you ( I don’t see an issue, it’s for the record and upcoming TRE)
G) the sign appears to be within the city right of way and requires a temporary revocable easement (TRE) to be submitted and reviewed for authorization with the City Real Estate Department. This can be done after the SDRC process has been completed, thank you.

2) NEC / OLC / FCC -
A) Add note that power to be run by others via separate building permit.

3) IBC:
A) add note how letters mounted to aluminum cabinet (i.e. size / typical number of screws / bolts)
B) add note how cabinet is mounted to the planned masonry base (i.e. size / type / number of bolts)
