Tami.Goltz@tucsonaz.gov or 520-837-5049. 1) Frontage is based on the building elevation facing the roadway. This site only has one elevation that fronts a roadway, which is the south wall facing Valencia. That wall is noted as being 36.63’ in length. Sign code allows 3 sq ft per lf of frontage. 3 x 36.63 = 109.89 sq ft of allowed sign area. These signs exceed the allowed amount of signage. Please reduce the signage to fall within the allowed square footage. 2) Drywall screws are not designed to hold the weight of a sign in an exterior wall and the proposed 2” drywall screws are noted as being spaced 1.5” from the wall, leaving only ½" of the screw to penetrate both the metal façade and underlying plywood which provides insufficient support to handle both the shear and tensile loads of the sign. Please revise anchor method to an appropriate type. Consult an engineer for recommendation. 3) Road names must be legible on the site plan. Please provide clearer designations for roadway names. |
