02/02/2024 | Signs | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | RE: wall sign review For: 643 N 4th Ave Zoning: HC-3 - historic district - West University Reviewer: Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov Date: 2/2/24 Code: Unified Development Code (UDC) This location is within the West University Historic District. Exterior modifications require a historic review process that staff can facilitate with the submittal of the revised plans needed by a licensed sign contractor. 1) The plans submitted indicate what appears to be an illuminated wall sign cabinet. Such installation requires a licensed sign contractor to facilitate the permit and installation process. Even if the sign is not illuminated, the type of work involved for mounting and the valuation for this work would require a licensed sign contractor. Please hire a sign contractor to continue forward. They will provide mounting plans and construction specifications for the sign that are needed for the review. You may obtain a temporary sign compliance certificate to keep a banner on the building during this sign review process. That certificate can be obtained on the TDC portal as well. I may be reached at 520-837-4961 or Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov |
