General – A) the ownership permission shows diagrams with all of the wall signs as illuminated …. The plans submitted, however, show all wall signs as non-illuminated. Clarify – and on resubmittal, plans and property management permission should match. Thank you. B) the sign package submitted is missing a wall sign (logo) planned for the south elevation, according to the property management permission document submitted. Please check plans. C) the freestanding pole sign is shown in a different orientation and different setbacks on the submitted plan set than on the property management permission document. Check. 2. UDC: A) Anticipated total sign area will be within allowances based on UDC 7A.11.4 for the PAD District allowances to use the underlying zoning and proximity to the freeway (4 to 1 ratio of sign area) B) Per UDC 7A.6.1.A.1., the black backer behind the lettering is the total sign area for each sign shown on the plans, as that black backer paint “frames” the sign from the remainder of the wall. Provide the sign area for each sign, inclusive of the black backer, on the elevation view. C) provide the property line street frontage along the west street frontage, where the pole sign is to be located 3) NEC: - regarding the freestanding pole sign A) provide shut off switch location B) add note that UL, installer stickers to be on sign C) add note that labeled circuit breakers to be provided D) add note that timer to be shown at inspection E) add note that power to pole sign via separate building permit (check building plan set) 4) OLC: - regarding freestanding pole sign A) add note that the timer will shut the sign off at midnight 5) IBC: A) Engineered plans required for sign mounting for 5’ tall letters (signs A and B) B) Engineered plans required for mounting cabinet sign E. C) add note how cladding affixed to freestanding pole sign D) add note how pipe and cabinet connect, i.e. field welding or saddles / and bolts – call out sizes of bolts and the number and type… special inspections may be needed E) thank you for engineering for the pipe and footer size for the freestanding pole sign F) provide document that Valencia Crossings PAD architectural board approves of the freestanding sign 6) Depending on the plan updates… Further review comments may be forthcoming.
