Thrall (Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov) Date: 2/2/23 Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A, Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), Tucson-Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (2018) GENERAL INFO - SUBMIT THE LED LIGHTING FOR THE BUILDING AS A SEPARATE ELECTRICAL PERMIT REVIEW ON TDC ONLINE PORTAL 1. UDC: A) this is scenic district with sign area allowance at a ratio of 1.25 square feet of sign area per linear foot of each building elevation, with a cap of 250 sq.ft for the establishment. I fully acknowledge the sign area proposed is under that. For the permit record, list all sign dimensions in decimal feet, list cumulative sign area per elevation. B) sign area for menu and order stations is not counted towards total sign area allowance, courtesy FYI reassurance C). On the change copy - the light may only come through the letters or logos but not the entire panel, provide night view (scenic district criteria, UDC 7A.11.) D) take elevation off page 11 - no signage may extend above the parapet line, thus for clarity in the package just remove it E) add notes that all drive thru signs / structures will be setback 1' from drive thru curb to leading edge of the structure 2. NEC / OLC: A) add note that via timer, all signs shut off at midnight or business closure, later hour allowed B) add note that all signs shall have UL, manufacturer, and installer stickers on them C) add note that dedicated sign sign circuits will be labeled at breaker panel D) add note that all wall signs will have lock out switches at shut offs 3. IBC: A) Provide engineered plans and calcs for the order station canopy B) Provide notes how power packs are mounted to the walls Please email me when you resubmit your sign package and I'll pull the revised plan set for a faster review than a first time package.
