Thrall (Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov) Date: 01/18/23 Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC 600), Tucson -Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) and International Building Code 2018 (IBC). 1. UDC A. The total allowed sign area for this suite is based on the tenant's suite frontage, not the building frontage for this entire building elevation. Provide that number on the application, the location map and elevation view. There are multiple tenants in this building, thus obtain the tenant's width from the wall that the public enters off off. The sign is not large, thus staff continued with the review, assuming that they have sufficient frontage. The ratio for sign area allowance is 3 square feet per each linear foot of frontage. B) provide dimensions in decimal feet not in inches on the elevation plan C) provide total sign area on the elevation plan in decimal feet 2) NEC / OLC: A) list the volts, the amps drawn and the number of circuits on the elevation plan B) add note that dedicated sign circuit shall be provided at breaker panel and labeled C) Add note that all UL, manufacturer and installer stickers will be on the sign D) provide a safety lock out E) add note: the internally illuminated sign shall not exceed 4400k color temperature F) add note: the sign shall shut off at midnight curfew via timer G) add note that timer shall be provided near breaker panel 3. IBC A) provide mounting information on the elevation plan specific to a concrete wall - the size, type and number of bolts per letter B) provide mounting information for power pack to the wall Landlord permission letter noted and approved, thank you. Mr. Davis, It is understood your team is from Phoenix. As staff discussed with you prior, you have not finaled prior sign packages, as you have stated you're not coming to Tucson again after you do a job. That is fairly understandable, given the time and fuel involved. But you will meet code requirements to work within our jurisdiction. To save you time and ensure you do not have to return for electrical and final sign inspections, it is REQUIRED that you work DIRECTLY with the INSPECTIONS SUPERVISOR, David Roberts, once your sign package has been approved. You can schedule your inspection directly with him by phone and meet him on site during your installation process to ensure your work can be finaled.
