Reviewed the proposed traffic control setup and detour route for impacts to the City of Tucson right-of-way. Comments: 1) The proposed detour route requires further review by TC company. Current road conditions on Country Club Road do not appear sustainable for the anticipated increase in Aviation Parkway traffic volumes during the closure period. 2)Alternative detour routes should be analyzed to identify options that minimize congestion, improve traffic operations, and reduce impacts to adjacent roadways and intersections. 3) Review for detour and hard closure at the Aviation Parkway / Alvernon Way on-ramp near Golf Links Road to better manage traffic distribution and reduce demand on Country Club Road. As discussed on Phone meeting 4) Message board should be added and called out for placement on Golf Links Rd Prior to Aviation on Ramps. Place on WB Broadway Blvd in advance to support Traffic Self-detour options prior to closure 5) Note Euclid/Park Ave South bound has active work area at 22nd street impacting and restricting traffic access. Review and call out alternative detour options when Aviation Ramp is Closed at Broadway Blvd.. |
