As a contributor to the district, the property is eligible for a property tax reduction if it is owner-occupied. As a National Register district, you are not required to go through the City of Tucson Historic Preservation Office (HPO) for work. However, to remain a contributing property, I would recommend that you contact that State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to discuss any proposed exterior renovations. They can be reached at 602.542.4009. While you don’t need a review by the Tucson HPO, you may need a permit from the City of Tucson Development Services Department.-No HPZ review required.
