The comments provided are preliminary and are not to be assumed as a complete review of the proposal. During the Development Package review process, a full review will be made by the Site Landscape and NPPO section to ensure compliance with the applicable UDC development criteria and Technical Standards. SITE LANDSCAPE/NPPO COMMENTS: 1. Provide a NPPO or a NPPO waiver for the trees that will be removed due to the installation of the solar canopies. See UDC 7.7. SEE UDC 7.7.3. APPLICABILITY; UDC 7.7.4 NPPO GENERAL PROVISIONS AND STANDARDS; UDC 7.7.4.C. PLAN APPROVAL PRIOR TO PERMITTING; UDC 7.7.4.D. PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE 7.7.5.C.5; ALSO SEE AM 2-11.3.0 PERMITTED EXCEPTIONS. PDSD will provide the applicant with the NPPO Waiver form upon request. 2. For all of the removed trees that are not protected natives shall be mitigated at a 1:1 ratio elsewhere on site for shade/heat island effect and the overall aesthetic of the site. 3. At the formal development package submittal provide a planting and irrigation plan that shows the new location of the mitigation trees from the NPPO, and other possible non-protected native trees replaced at the stated 1:1 ratio above. Include supplemental irrigation and applicable detailing. 4. RIO NUEVO PAD 4 - Appendix B - Recommended Landscape Plant Materials THIS PLANT LIST WAS ADOPTED AS A PART OF THE RIO NUEVO REDEVELOPMENT PLAN/ PLANNED AREA DEVELOPMENT. SINCE ADOPTION, A LOW-WATER USE/DROUGHT TOLERANT PLANT LIST MEETING THE SOUTHERN ARIZONA WATER RESOURCES ASSOCIATION AND THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES STANDARDS HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY OF TUCSON AND PIMA COUNTY.
