12/12/2023 | Light Residential Building Review (OIP) | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | Permit Review TC-RES-1223-09853 (5942 E 18TH ST TUCSON, AZ 85711) Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Provide updated Plans/calculations and a written response Letter to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Resubmitted plans that do not contain a written response Letter addressing each of the notated items indicating action taken, may be delayed until response letter is received. Code reference, 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC). 1. After a review of aerial views (https://maps2.tucsonaz.gov/Html5Viewer/?viewer=maptucson#) of the property, it appears that the PV modules are mounted on an unpermitted structure on the south side of the building. Appears to be detached structure at the back of the main house. Searching city records through PRO (https://pro.tucsonaz.gov/address_search/) found no completed permit history for this addition appearing around 2010. There is an existing Permit: T10CM01340, but this permit shows as withdrawn and never inspected. Either provide completed permit and inspection documentation, apply for and complete permit review and inspections for the structure or remove the PV modules from the unpermitted addition. 2. Show a Grounding Electrode System at the detached structure per NEC 690.47. 3. The overhead service conductor over the detached structure requires an 8’ clearance above the roof, E3604.2.1. Show a mast height necessary to achieve this clearance. The necessary mast height at the existing panel location may not be a feasible installation. Provide the detached structure’s Roof slope.
