Please provide a site plan (With Named Streets and North arrow) or an aerial photograph of the property with the location of where the work is being completed clearly marked; showing the house, and location of the water softener and discharge point. 2. Please indicate the make and model of water softener to be installed at the location on the site plan. Additionally, show on the plans, the method and location the discharge is going to be disposed. R106.1For example, discharging to the sanitary sewer through clothes washer drain, etc. 3. The softener discharge line must be installed at an approved location, as per the adopted code and the manufacturer’s installation instructions, with a code-compliant air gap. If the water softener will discharge to the sanitary sewer system, a minimum 1” air gap is required. P2902.3 P3101.3 Use limitations. Please note: The plumbing vent system shall not be used for purposes other than the venting of the plumbing system. ❖ The venting system is designed for a specific function and cannot be used for any other purposes. Any other use could interfere with the proper operation of the plumbing system or could create a hazard. 4. A GFCI-protected receptacle is required for the installation of a water softener. If this does currently not exist, a separate electrical permit will be required. Please show on the plans. R106.1 5. Please provide the manufacturer’s instructions and installation guidelines on-site for the field inspector's use. as they as along with the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC) requirements must be followed to install the water softener. 2018 R106.1.2 5.
