This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Provide updated Plans/calculations and a written response Letter to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Resubmitted plans that do not contain a written response Letter addressing each of the notated items indicating action taken, may be delayed until response letter is received. Code reference, 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC). Electrical Plans: 1. Residential systems with solar backfeed OCPD protection of 100A or greater, require a design and calculations provided by an Arizona registered Electrical Engineer, R106.1. 2. Show a Grounding Electrode System at the detached structure per NEC 690.47. 3. Provide warning labels for both solar backfeed breakers per NEC 705.12(B)(2)(b). 4. Provide warning label at main panel per NEC 705.12(B)(2)(c). 5. TEP requires only one DG production meter. Coordinate with TEP for DG production meter requirements. General: 6. Provide total roof coverage for both the new system and the existing system on the main structure, R324.6. 7. For photovoltaic arrays occupying not more than 33% of the plan view total roof area, not less than an 18” clear setback is required on both sides of a horizontal ridge. R324.6.2. 8. For photovoltaic arrays occupying more than 33% of the plan view total roof area, not less than a 36” clear setback is required on both sides of a horizontal ridge. R324.6.2.
