Provide documentation to verify the weight of the PV system 4 lbs/sq ft. or less as per IRC. 8. Provide documentation to verify the attachment points of the mounting system are staggered (no check requires low snow and wind load location). 9. Verify Structural Requirements-Rooftop-mounted photovoltaic panel systems shall be designed to structurally support the system and withstand applicable gravity loads in accordance with Chapter 3. The roof on which these systems are installed shall be designed and constructed to support the loads imposed by such systems in accordance with Chapter 8 as per IRCR324.4.1. 10. Provide a lag-bolt connection up-lift calculation demonstrating the wind load supporting capability, R301.1. Show the size and total number and spacing of lag bolts as per PV System requirements adopted by City of Tuscon. Verify manufacturer's installation requirements (Everest Solar Systems Crossrail)-minimum diameter lag screws with minimum embedment into the rafter are used, or the anchor fastener recommended by the manufacturer’s guidelines, whichever is more stringent as per PV System requirements adopted by City of Tuscon. 11. Provide required inspections as per City of Tucson Development Services Department. BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied Please make corrections and resubmit. Resubmittal shall include a response letter. Verify Roof penetrations are flashed and sealed in accordance with Chapter 9 as per IRC-R324.4.3. 4. Sheet SP1 notes "PANEL SHALL NOT EXCEED 16" ABOVE FINISH ROOF SURFACE" but Site Plan has note for solar panels stating "APPROXIMATELY 5-10 DEGREE TILT ANGLE FOR TILT MOUNT". Verify maximum slope designated complies with limited height above finish roof as specified. 5. Provide the attachments’ weather sealing detail in compliance and in according to building code IRC section R909.3 and product installation instruction and verifying roof penetrations are flashed to prevent moisture from entering the roof. (IRC Chapter 9, Section R903, R324.4.3). 6. Verify the module/mounting system combination achieves the required fire classification as per IRC and Rooftop mounted PV panels and modules have the proper fire classification rating. (IRC Section R324.4.2 ). 7. Verify Roof access points, paths and clearances need to comply with the IFC & IRC. 8. Verify All roofs have an access point that does not place ground ladders over openings such as windows or doors, are located at strong points of building construction, and in locations where the access point does not conflict with overhead obstructions such as tree limbs, wires, or signs. (IFC 605.11.3.1) 9. Provide documentation to verify the weight of the PV system 4 lbs/sq ft. or less as per IRC-R324. 10. Verify PV systems shall be designed and installed in accordance with Sections R324.3.1 through R324.7.1, NFPA 70 and the manufacturer's installation instructions as per IRC-R324.3. 11. Provide documentation to verify the attachment points of the mounting system are staggered (no check requires low snow and wind load location). 12. Provide Fire Classification-Rooftop-mounted photovoltaic panel systems shall have the same fire classification as the roof assembly required in Section R902 as per IRC-R324.4.2 . 13. Provide required inspections as per City of Tucson Development Services Department. MECHANICAL REVIEW COMMENTS: N/A ELECTRICAL REVIEW COMMENTS Denie Please make corrections and resubmit.
