COMMENTS:
1. Clarify the placement of ceiling/roof insulation for determining the need for attic ventilation, R806. Attic space outside of the thermal barrier requires a ventilation calculation for showing the attic vent opening size using 1 to 150 of attic area in compliance with R806.2 or an unvented roof assembly requires an air-impermeable rigid insulation material with a minimum R-5 value applied correctly to either side of the roof sheathing, R806.5.
2. R506.3.3 Vapor retarder: a minimum 6 mil polyethylene vapor retarder with joints lapped not less than 6 inches is required between the concrete floor slab and the base course or the prepared subgrade
3. Receptacles on the kitchen island must conform to R3901.4.3. Islands and peninsular counters may no longer have receptacle outlets placed below the countertop on the cabinet surface. Either provide a vertical assembly listed for countertop (work surface) mounting, or a raceway terminated within the cabinet for future assembly installation.
4. An additional GFCI receptacle is required in the 2nd vehicle bay of the garage (R3901.9)
5. GFCI protection is req’d for receptacle outlets or their branch circuit for: Dishwashers, Electric ranges, Wall-mounted ovens, Counter-mounted cooking units, Clothes dryers, Microwave ovens (E3902.12)
6. All services supplying dwelling units shall be provided with a surge-protective device (SPD) installed in accordance with Sections E3606.5.1 through E3606.5.3
7. Please correct and resubmit.
