09/24/2024 Light Residential Building Review (OIP) REQUIRES RESUBMIT Please submit your revised documents and provide a letter with a written response letter to address each of the comments indicating how the Building Review comments were addressed. Additionally, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed.

1. Please provide a site plan or an aerial photograph of the property with the location of where the work is being completed clearly marked; showing the house, and location of the water softener and discharge point. The site plan should also show the street name and the house address. The code 2018 IRC should also be shown on the plans. In accordance with SECTION R106 of the 2018 IRC and the PDSD Building Plan Requirements.

2. Please indicate what type of water softener is being installed and show the location on the site plan. Additionally show the method and location the discharge is going to be disposed. R106.1

3. A GFCI-protected receptacle is required for the installation of a water softener. If this does currently not exist, a separate electrical permit will be required. Please show on the plans. R106.1

4. Please provide the manufacturer’s instructions and installation guidelines as they as along with the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC) requirements must be followed to install the water softener. R106.1

5. The softener discharge line must be installed at an approved location, as per the adopted code and the manufacturer’s installation instructions, with a code-compliant air gap. If the water softeners will discharge to the sanitary sewer system, a minimum 1” air gap is required. P2902.3 P3101.3 Use limitations.

Please note: The plumbing vent system shall not be used for purposes other than the venting of the plumbing system. ❖ The venting system is designed for a specific function and cannot be used for any other purposes. Any other use could interfere with the proper operation of the plumbing system or could create a hazard.
