ESS is placed within a drivable portion of the driveway, verify the height/location of ESS if relocated. If the ESS remains in the driveway, please use of the methods depicted in R330.8.3. or show that the returning wall exceeds the depth of the ESS system. 2) Provide fire detection within the garage where the Energy Storage System (ESS) is proposed to be installed. R330.7, areas containing ESS installed in attached garages shall be provided with smoke alarms or heat detectors installed in accordance with Section R310, and the plans shall clearly indicate the location of the required device 3) Please provide the Manufacturer's Specifications for ALL equipment to be installed. Be sure to include UL listing and additional certificates verifying their compliance with the NEC 2023, IRC 2024, and TEP ESR 2025. All ESS must be UL 9540 including configurations of inverters and individual storage units. 4) ESS disconnecting means must adhere to 706.15, show disconnecting means is either integrated with the system or within 3m (10 ft) that is lockable. Please note, the City of Tucson does not review on behalf of TEP. However see the metering requirements in the TEP ESR for standalone single phase energy storage systems in ESR-710 pg. 15-16. TEP may or may not allow an additional meter for the system.
