This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Provide updated Plans/calculations and a written response Letter to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Resubmitted plans that do not contain a written response Letter addressing each of the notated items indicating action taken, may be delayed until response letter is received. Code reference, 2018 International Residential Code (IRC). 1. Show a roof ventilation plan with a minimum 1” air space between the insulation and roof sheathing, R806. And show attic vent openings effectively sized for the attic area per R806.2. 2. Provide detail or notation for the bracing of trusses at gable ends to prevent rotation and provide lateral stability, R802.10.3. 3. Provide a complete roof framing plan, for both the addition and the existing trusses, with beams and truss/rafters sized with appropriate prescriptive load carrying capacity, R301.1. Detail both ends of the new ridge beam. Completely detail all new ridge beam connections from ends to the foundation/footing, R301.1. 4. Completely detail all new rafter connections from the new Ridge beam to the foundation supported structure, R301.1. 5. Provide manufacturer’s calculations and data for pre-engineered trusses dated and wet-sealed by an engineer who is registered in Arizona, or notate the requirement for deferred submittal, R106.1. Show truss calculations with cross-reference to the plans, R802.10.2. 6. Modification of and attachment to existing trusses requires a design with calculations and data, dated and wet-sealed by an engineer who is registered in Arizona, R802.10.2.
