This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Provide a separate Comment Response Letter when submitting updated plans. Facilitate a shorter back check time, please provide updated plans and calculations with a written response to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Do not cloud the changes made for comment revisions. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2024 International Residential Code and 2018 International Energy Conservation Code. The 2024 International Energy Conservation Code takes effect July 1st. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. PROVIDE A COMPLETE PLAN SET showing all proposed alterations to the building with 2024 IRC code compliance. Place the 2024 IRC reference code on the cover sheet and G1.01. Provide a separate response letter addressing each comment with location of change on the plans. GENERAL: 1. The design, construction and installation of private residence elevators installed within a residential unit or providing access to one individual dwelling unit shall conform to ASME A17.1/CSA B44, Section 5.3. Provide the requirement note on the plans. 2. The elevator installation requires a completed special inspection request form for review with the permit plans, R109.2. Obtain an inspector and provide a certified inspector seal on the form found at: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/Departments/Planning-Development-Services/Building-Inspections PLANS: 1. Remove the deferred truss submittal note from the cover sheet. 2. Clarify the existing and proposed items, R106.1.1. Update the proposed mechanical enclosure on sheet A2.01. 3. Note the maximum opening between the elevator and guard as 4” on sheet A2.02, R321.1.3. ELECTRICAL PLANS: 1. Interior alterations require the installation of smoke alarms in existing bedrooms, R310.2.2. Provide notation if the smoke alarms exist or are proposed.
