TC-RES-0226-00595 –Residential Fence/Wall Permit

Location

2140 N CALLE CHICO TUCSON, AZ 85705

TRANSMITTAL DATE: 02/12/26

Zoning will require a simple site plan that demonstrates the wall is not being built in the Right of Way. I will include a link to our web page where you will find examples of a simple site plan. Please make sure and indicate the distance the fence is from the face of the curb.

https://www.tucsonaz.gov/Departments/Planning-Development-Services/Permits/Plan-Examples/Site-Plan-Examples

Please indicate the height of the fence as the fence appears to be over 6 ft high if so a Design Development Option will be required instructions for DDP below.

FENCE/WALL OVER 6 FEET – DDO REQUIRED

A perimeter fence or wall is not permitted to be greater than 6’ unless the portion over 6’ is at least 75% see-through (still then, the overall height cannot be more than 10’). You may apply for a Design Development Option (DDO) to allow the fence to remain above 6’.

See instructions here for how to apply for the DDO:

https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/sharedassets/public/v/1/pdsd/documents/planning-amp-zoning/ddo-for-s…

Once you receive a DDO Decision Letter, please include that letter in your resubmittal on this permit only after the two-week post-approval appeal period has ended. At that point, Site Zoning can provide final approval for this permit.

Zoning will require you apply for a residential addition alteration permit in addition to the fence permit for the unpermitted structures in the back yard. Use the full site plan example for this permit and show the shade structure as well.
