Code reference, 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), 1. Clarify if this is a new gas meter where one never existed before, or if this is an existing service that needs to be turned on. 2. Provide a plan set that includes the address and unit number of the meter being turned on. 3. Note and specify all piping materials (Black Iron, Gas line PEX, etc.), G2412.9. 4. Provide the length measured from the meter to the farthest attached appliance. Provide max demand of each appliance. Size the pipe based on the length from the meter to the farthest attached appliance and max total demand of all attached appliances using Table G2413.4(1) (Metallic Pipe), Table G2413.4(7) Polyethylene Plastic Pipe. Note: The length is measured from the meter to the furthest attached appliance for all sizing, G2413.4.1. 5. Yellow tracer wire required for non-metallic pipe, G2415.17.3. 6. Provide a complete gas line schematic, showing all gas connected appliances and pipe sizes.
