This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Provide updated Plans/calculations and a written response Letter to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Resubmitted plans that do not contain a written response Letter addressing each of the notated items indicating action taken, may be delayed until response letter is received. Code reference, 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC). 1. Structural calculations for ARRAY 02 and ARRAY 03 show an uplift greater than the pullout strength, see Sheet PV 4. Provide a design with uplift less than the pullout strength, and point load calculations that meet the prescriptive requirements below. 2. When applying for a permit to place new equipment on existing code-compliant roofs constructed in the past fifty years, an allowance shall be provided for equipment weighing a maximum of 4 psf and load per attachment point of 40lbs or less, R324.4. Provide plans and calculations showing compliance with these prescriptive design requirements, or provide an engineer’s calculation, and sealed design. R301.1, R324.4.
