Additionally, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed. COMMENTS: 1. WASHER/DRYER a. Since the water heater’s former location is where the W/D is currently located. i. Please confirm that the W/D is a new appliance. Show this on the drawing. ii. Please confirm that the CW/ HW lines, waste line, water hammer arrestor are also new. Show these on the drawing. iii. Please confirm that the electrical power is new. Please show this on your drawing. 2. WATER HEATER a. Please confirm that the Holdrite Quick Stand provides not less than 18 inches from the ignition source to the finish floor. b. Please confirm the presence of a pan. c. Please locate the drain line that is connected to the pan and its route to day lite on your drawing. d. Locate the exhaust on your drawing as well as the fresh air intake. e. DOOR i. Prohibited locations. 1. Appliances shall not be located in sleeping rooms, bathrooms, toilet rooms, storage closets or surgical rooms, or in a space that opens only into such rooms or spaces, except where the installation complies with one of the following per IFGC 303.3: a. The appliance is installed in a room or space that opens only into a bedroom or bathroom, and such room or space is used for no other purpose and is provided with a solid weather-stripped door equipped with an approved self-closing device. b. Combustion air shall be taken directly from the outdoors in accordance with Section 304.6. 2. Please comply to the above. 3. Another unit that was submitted from this same complex addressed fire partition code requirement. a. Are you going to address this unit as well? b. Below is the code section. i. Separation using fire partition with fire-resistance rating of not less than 1 hour per IBC 402.4.2.1 and IBC 708 extend from the top of the foundation or floor/ceiling assembly below to the underside of the floor or roof sheathing, deck or slab above shall have penetration complying to IBC 714 and joints complying with IBC 715 protected by an approved fire-resistant joint system to resist the passage of fire for a time period not less than the required fire-resistance rating of the wall, floor or roof in or between which the system is installed. 4. Please show where the gas piping, water piping, and venting will extend and connect to the existing systems as a result of relocating the water heater. |
