Provide drawings illustrating whether the existing Evaporative Coolers curbs are being reconfigured to receive the Mini Split external unit. i. Provide detail drawings of the Mini Split sitting on the reconfigured curb. b. Or c. Are the existing curbs being abandoned and new curbs being installed for the new Mini Split units. i. If so, provide drawings illustrating the above. ii. Provide detail drawings of the Mini Split sitting on the new curb. 2. SUBMITTED DRAWINGS a. The submitted drawings are of previous permits containing seals of approvals. i. Thes drawings will not suffice. b. Please submit drawings that do not contain previous seals. 3. Further, there is discrepancy in the provided submittal information. a. Electrical Engineer Dennis Coon, the Swamp Coolers/Evaporative Coolers are being replaced with Mini-Splits. b. Another submitted document shows Goodman Packaged Heat Pump that are 2 to 5 ton units. i. According to our initial research, this unit will be 100 lb heavier than the Swamp Coolers that are being replaced. ii. Structural calculation on the roof structural members will be required and possibly strengthen the structural members to accept additional weight. 1. Please provide drawings. c. Please coordinate and correct this. 4. Multiple permits will be required. a. Please coordinate with Drew.Szentesy@tucsonaz.gov and verify exactly how the multiple permits to be handled. 5. Reference: Arizona Revised Statutes 32-125, Board of Technical Registration Rules R4-30-304. 2. The 2018 International Mechanical Code, 2018 International Building Code, 2018 International Energy Efficiency Code, and the 2017 National Electrical Code (all with the Local Amendments) are the relevant codes for this project, not the International Residential Code. 3. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heat pumps specified for the project. Reference: Sections R302.2 and R403.7, IECC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson. 5. Provide calculations to verify that adequate ventilation will be provided for the dwelling unit. Reference: Section 403.3.2, IMC 2018. 6. New ducts installed in the dwelling unit shall be sized using ACCA Manual D and shall be installed in accordance with Sections R403.3.1 through R403.3.7, IECC 2018. Reference: Section 603.2, IMC 2018 and Section R503.1.2, IECC 2018. 7. Provide a programmable thermostat for each heat pump that complies with the requirements of Section R403.1.1 (N1103.1.1), IECC (IRC) 2018. |
