| 01/06/2025 | Commercial Building | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | Structural(S) Reviewer Madeline Nelson mnelson@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 1/6/2025 4:42:06 PM 1. GENERAL - UPDATES: For project updates, please submit sheets with all changes clearly marked in revision clouds. Please provide a written response to each comment; updates without a clear response to all comments may not be reviewed. If you have any questions regarding the comments, you may contact me directly. Updates may result in additional comments. 2. GENERAL - FUEL CANOPY DRAWINGS: The CA- series drawings provided by RD Collaborative show plans and elevations for a proposed fuel canopy. The drawings refer to "Fuel Canopy Structural Drawings" for information on steel member sizes, foundations and connections. Reviewer was unable to locate these drawings in the submitted set of documents. Please confirm and upload the structural fuel canopy drawings if required. 3. GENERAL - SPECIAL INSPECTIONS FOR FUEL CANOPIES: If fuel canopies are included in the scope of this permit, the structural general notes should be amended to include Special Inspections for structural steel as required by the 2018 IBC Section 1705.2 and the AISC Manual 360 Chapter N. 4. GENERAL - GEOTECHNICAL REPORT: Please provide a copy of the site-specific geotechnical report referenced in the structural general notes. The report should support the appropriateness of the selected foundation system for the project site. All submitted geotechnical reports must be dated no later than five years from the submittal date. Outdated reports must be accompanied by a letter from a qualified geotechnical engineer stating that the report requirements are still valid, or stating what items may have changed. All building code references must be updated to the current code adopted by the City. 5. SHEET W-1.1 - SHEAR WALL SILL ANCHORAGE: Reviewer was unable to confirm the desired embed length for distributed sill plate anchors at SIP shear walls. Please confirm where this information has been provided and resubmit. 6. SHEET W-3.1 - MECHANICAL LOADS: The Roof Plan prepared by Pinnacle Engineering, Sheet W-3.1, lists weights for RTU's 1 and 2 that conflict with the recommendations provided by the Engineer of Record on Sheet S1.1. The Engineer of Record is requesting for the prefabricated wood roof trusses be designed to support units weighing a maximum of 1,760 lb each. Please revise Sheet W-3.1 to be consistent with these recommendations. 7. SHEETS W-5.3 thru W-5.5 - CONFIRM PARAPET CONNECTIONS: Details 26, 32, 33 & 35 on Sheets W-5.3, W-5.4 and W-5.5 show proposed 2x4 and 2x6 kickers supporting parapet SIP panels in various conditions. In all cases, kickers are secured by a combination of toe-nails into a continuous ledger and OSB sheathing that is fastened into these ledgers with nails at 6"oc. These kickers are anticipated to be loaded in both tension and compression, depending on the direction of the wind. Please confirm that these connections have been checked for pull-out of the nails and are sufficient to resist wind in both directions. [Written confirmation from the engineer is required to satisfy this comment. Please refer to the first comment above.] Building(B) Reviewer Keith Miller kmiller@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 12/26/2024 3:37:12 PM 1.
