The activity description calls out a 2-ton AC but the submitted condensing unit specifications are for a 4-ton AC. Reference: Section R103.2, IECC 2018. 2. The submitted condensing unit specification (GLXS4BA4810A) has a cooling capacity that is much greater than justified by the cooling load calculations. Sections R302.2, R403.7, and R503.1.2, IECC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson. 3. Current Federal Regulations require residential split system air conditioners with a capacity of less than 45 MBH to have a minimum SEER2 of 14.3 (SEER 15). Verify that the proposed split system has a SEER2 that is at least 14.3. 4. The submittal does not describe the furnace section of the system. Is it existing or new? If it is new, is the gas load of the new unit equal to or less than the gas load of the existing furnace? Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. |

Additionally, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed. 1. Please amend the plans to provide a detailed description of the work in this permit’s scope. IBC 105.2 2. Please amend the plans to provide a list of the year and name of the adopted applicable codes from the adopting ordinance. IBC 107.2.1 3. It appears this project includes replacing existing evaporative coolers with new roof top AC units (RTU). Please provide an evaluation from an Arizona licensed design professional to indicate the existing roof structure can support the new RTU to include calculations, plans/details for the support of such equipment as needed. IBC 107.2.1 Alternatively, provide the weight of existing Evaporative Cooler to be removed and a comparison to the new RTU’s weight. If the new RTU weighs less than the existing, removed RTU all is good a. Additionally, please provide drawing or manufacturer’s cut sheet for sheet metal stand.
