11/19/2024 | Commercial Structural | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | Please submit your revised documents and provide a letter with a written response letter addressing each of the comments indicating how the Building Review comments were resolved. Additionally, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed. 1. Please amend the plans to provide the following Exterior Accessible Route information. A. Delineate the primary path of travel to the area of work in accordance with 2009 ICC A117.1 402. Show a fully accessible route between all path of travel elements. B. Specify the accessible route to be 5% maximum running slope with 2% maximum cross slope. 2009 ICC A117.1 403.3 C. Specify the gates on the accessible route comply with 2009 ICC A117.1 404 D. Please show the maneuvering clearance at the gates and specify the floor surface within the maneuvering clearances shall have a slope not steeper than 1:48 and shall comply with Section 302. E. While one side of the gate will have panic hardware, please specify handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operable parts on accessible doors shall have a shape that is easy to grasp with one hand and does not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist to operate. 2009 ICC A117.1 404.2.6 F. Please specify a 10” kick plate on gate surface to create a smooth surface on the push side extending the full width of the door. Cavities created by added kick plates shall be capped. 2009 ICC A117.1 404.2.9 2. In the event one of the gates is not accessible, please provide directional signage indicating the route to the nearest like accessible element shall be provided at the following locations. These directional signs shall include the International Symbol of Accessibility and sign characters shall meet the visual character requirements in accordance with ICC A117.1. IBC 111.2 3. Please state on the plans the canopy is an approved covering that complies with one of the following, and additionally provide the manufacturer’s cutsheet: IBC 3105.3 A. The fire propagation performance criteria of Test Method 1 or Test Method 2, as appropriate, of NFPA 701. B. Has a flame spread index not greater than 25 when tested in accordance with ASTM E84 or UL 723. C. Meets all of the following criteria when tested in accordance with NFPA 286: i. During the 40 kW exposure, flames shall not spread to the ceiling. ii. Flashover, as defined in NFPA 286, shall not occur. iii. The flame shall not spread to the outer extremity of the sample on any wall or ceiling. iv. The peak heat release rate throughout the test shall not exceed 800 kW. 4. Please provide the structural calculations sealed by an Arizona licensed design professional, used to design the canopy structure.
