01/23/2024 | Commercial Electrical | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | The previous plan review comments still not resolved. 1. Previous comment #1a. The revised total lumen value still exceeds 75% of the total allowed and requires a Special Inspection. See section 102.6.1 as previously referenced. Provide a note on the plans as required per section 104.2.2. 2. Previous comment #1b. Be advised the Outdoor Lighting Special Inspection Certificate must be filled out including the first registrant seal and submitted for review prior to approval of plan review. See City of Oro Valley or Pima County Development services website to download a list of acceptable Outdoor Lighting Special Inspectors. 3. Previous comment #3. The ‘Semi - Cut Off’ ‘LSWS’ luminaires cannot exceed 3000 lumens OLC section 401.4. The NEC requires luminaires to be NEC 410.6. Per response letter, "Can we add shields to the LSWS”? Adding shields provided by the manufacturer designed specifically for that luminaire would be acceptable. However, trying to retrofit shields not designed and supplied by the same manufacturer as the luminaire would void the NRTL listing of the luminaire. NEC art 110.3. Be advised that the luminaire schedule refers to the LSWS luminaires as “Semi Cut-Off" and the manufactures cut sheets provided do not show a shielded luminaire. 4. Previous comment #4. Curfew controls not addressed. 5. Previous comment #5. “Provide full compliance with the 2018 IECC”. The response answer, “As far as I know this does meet compliance with 2018 IECC”, is not acceptable. Provide power calculations in Watts per IECC section C405.4. ComCheck is acceptable. It may be advisable to obtain the services of a qualified Arizona Electrical Engineer who has experience with the Outdoor Lighting Code requirements and calculations. Ref; 2018 IBC section 107.2.1, 2017 NEC, 2018 IECC, 2012 City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code. |
