Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed directly after the water meter for buildings that have chemicals, cleaning agents, or other contaminants that may come in direct contact with water. Show the location of the reduced pressure backflow assembly and water meter on the drawings; indicate the size of both items. Reference: Chapter XXVII, Article V, Section 27-72, the Tucson Code, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/water/docs/backflow-ordinance.pdf. 2. Revise the “piping axonometric” to reflect both the existing and proposed waste & vent piping. Label the fixtures and all of the pipe sizes. Note that the use of a horizontal wet vent is limited to bathroom groups only, in this case two water closets and two lavatories (see Section 912.1, IPC 2018). Reference: Section 107.32.1, IBC 2018. 3. Provide metering faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09. 4. Provide tempered water for the lavatories and public hand-washing sinks in restrooms using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 419.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2018. 5. Verify that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for the public lavatories complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018 (i.e. 24” for ½” pipe). 6.
