11/03/2025 Commercial Mechanical REQUIRES RESUBMIT Show how the new restroom is to be ventilated. Ventilation for restrooms in public spaces requires a minimum of 50 CFM of mechanical exhaust per water closet or urinal if the exhaust is continuous and 70 CFM if the exhaust is intermittent. Reference: Sections 401.2 and 401.3, and footnote e, Table 403.3.1.1, IMC 2018.
11/03/2025 Commercial Plumbing REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Provide specifications for the lavatory and water closet. Reference: Sections 303.4 and 402, IPC 2018.
2. Provide a metering faucet for the lavatory, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10 seconds. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
3. Provide tempered water for the public restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2018.
4. Verify that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for the public lavatories complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018 (e.g. 24” for a ½” pipe, 6” for a ¾” pipe).
5. The minimum size for a fixture drain for a lavatory is 1-1/4”. Reference: Section 706.2 and Table 709.1, IPC 2018.
6. Show that each trap and trapped fixture has been vented in accordance with one of the methods shown in the IPC. With the exception of water closets, the vent connection to a fixture drain shall not be located below the trap weir. Reference: Sections 901.2.1 and 909.2, IPC 2018.
