10/22/2024 Commercial Building REQUIRES RESUBMIT Please submit your revised documents and provide a letter with a written response letter addressing each of the comments indicating how the Building Review comments were addressed. Additionally, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed.
1. Please amend plans to show the break room sink with a forward approach is compliant with 2009 ICC A117.1 as follows:
A. A clear floor space complying with Section 305.3, positioned for a forward approach, shall be provided. 2009 ICC A117.1 606.2 For example, please show clear floor space on plans to indicate the use of a forward or parallel approach.
B. Knee and toe clearance complying with Section 306 shall be provided. The dip of the overflow shall not be considered in determining knee and toe clearances. 2009 ICC A117.1 606.2 For example, the height at the valence panel must be 27” minimum for knee clearance.
C. The front of lavatories and sinks shall be 34 inches maximum above the floor, measured to the higher of the rim or counter surface. 2009 ICC A117.1 606.3 Keep in mind a 34” high counter with a top mounted sink will exceed the maximum height requirement.
D. Faucets shall comply with Section 309. Hand-operated metering faucets shall remain open for 10 seconds minimum. 2009 ICC A117.1 606.4 Faucets. Please note or otherwise indicate on the plans.
E. Water supply and drainpipes under lavatories and sinks shall be insulated or otherwise configured to protect against contact. There shall be no sharp or abrasive surfaces under lavatories and sinks. 2009 ICC A117.1 606.6 Please note or otherwise indicate on the plans.
