Please amend drawings to indicate the scope of work to take place with this permit. [IBC 107.2] New comments might be generated based on the new information being provided, as no new construction is shown on these drawings. 2. Please show the location on the floor plan of any sales or service counters, new cabinetry/sinks etc. [IBC 107.2] 3. Please amend construction type to be in accordance with Chapter 6 of the IBC. We will use this information to populate the Certificate of Occupancy. For example, V-B could be used to clarify the construction type. 4. Further, related to comment #3 above. Please amend the Occupancy Group to B as a building or tenant space used for assembly purposes with an occupant load of less than 50 persons shall be classified as a Group B occupancy. [IBC 303.1.1] 5. Further, related to comment #3 above. Please amend the occupant load to be 13. The number of occupants shall be computed at the rate of one occupant per unit of area as prescribed in Table 1004.5. For areas without fixed seating, the occupant load shall be not less than that number determined by dividing the floor area under consideration by the occupant load factor assigned to the function of the space as set forth in Table 1004.5 [IBC 1004.5] 6. Please amend plans if indicate if this space has a fire sprinkler or fire alarm. [IBC 107.2] 7. Please provide the distance to the restroom facilities. [IBC 107.2] 8. Please provide the occupancy group of all adjacent tenant spaces and the rating of the demising or separation walls. [IBC Section 508] 9. Provide illumination for the means of egress, including the exit discharge per IBC 1008. Show compliance with the following: 9A. The means of egress shall be illuminated at all times the building space is occupied. 9B. The means of egress illumination level shall not be less than 1 foot-candle at the walking surface. 9C. The means of egress illumination shall be supplied by backup power (consisting of storage batteries, unit equipment, or an on-site generator) for a duration of not less than 90 minutes. [IBC 1008.3] 10. Amend the plans to indicate the distance to the public and employee toilet facilities on the plans in conformance with [IBC 2902.3.3] where the path of travel to the toilet facilities is less than 500ft. 11. Provide adequate notes or details on the plans to show that the primary entry door is accessible in accordance with IEBC Section 305.8.1. For example, door hardware operating, mounting height, etc. 12. Depending upon the scope of work involved with this permit activity; [IEBC Section 305] would require requires that accessibility be provided to the altered spaces. Where the existing path of travel elements, which entails a primary entrance, a primary path of travel, sanitary facilities serving the area, a drinking fountain, and signs. 12A. If the cost of providing or upgrading the items above to be accessible is disproportionate to the cost of construction (exceeds 20% of the cost of construction not including accessibility upgrades), please provide information to verify construction costs. If this exemption is taken, accessibility upgrades equaling 20% of the cost of the project shall be made. 13. Amend plans to provide an architectural site plan. Site accessibility provisions of IEBC Section 305.7 requires an accessible route to the primary entry of the building and toilet facility serving customers. Please demonstrate code compliance within the drawing set in the next submittal. 14. Amend plans to provide Outdoor air calculations in accordance with IMC Chapter 4, if occupant load has increased from previous occupancy. [IEBC 1008] 15. Amend plans to add note: a readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN THIS SPACE IS OCCUPIED.
