Please use the current Code Version. Remove 200 IBC and replace with 2024 IBC. b. Enumerate all the applicable building codes such as 2024 International Existing Building Code, 2024 International Mechanical Code, 2024 International Plumbing Code, 2023 National Electric Code, 2024 International Fire Code, etc. c. Type of Construction: Please remove Table 503, 200 IBC, the Type of Construction is now in Chapter 6 Table 601 IBC 2024. Please Remove VN-NS, per Table 503 it is now VB. Please correct this. d. Please ensure to provide an entry providing information whether this facility has fire sprinklers and alarm and if they are not installed, provide your area calculation illustrating the requirement of fire sprinkler or not required. e. This space was a Hair Salon using Unit 110. The unit number is missing on the permit record and the drawings. Please correct this. f. The previous area of this space was 890. The new area is 1,243 sf. Space has been taken from the Realtor Office next door. The realtor office now will have less square footage resulting to less occupant load allowed. This effectively renders their existing Certificate of Occupancy void. Please inform/direct the business next door to apply a new Certificate of Occupancy to correct this discrepancy. g. Provide the Exit Travel Distance required and the travel distance provided on the plan. h. EGRESS PLAN i. Please provide an egress plan. Show the route from the most remote part of the establishment to the exit. At point of exit, enter the exit width required, the exit width provided, the total distance traveled and the number of people exiting at that exit point. ii. Under each space name, enter the area/square footage, the space function category, the occupant load factor from Table 1004.5 IBC, & the calculated occupant load in that space. iii. Provide the Exit Travel Distance required and the travel distance provided on the plan. iv. NOTE: the Service Counter area is an assembly space. Please ensure to calculate the occupant load correctly using 15 sf net per person. Current occupant load shown on the drawing is 8. This Service Counter area will increase the occupant load. i. MINIMUM PLUMBING FIXTURE REQUIRED. i. Please provide the calculation as to how many water closet required, lavatory, mop sink (locate/label on the plan) and drinking fountain (locate/label on the plan). Show the calculation and if not required, please indicate within the Code Analysis section. ii. Drinking fountain: Should WATER DISPENSER is proposed - Where the Building and Plumbing Codes require a drinking fountain, the City of Tucson will accept point of use water dispenser in lieu of the classically recognized drinking fountain. 1. a. The water dispenser must be listed and labeled in accordance with the Code. 2. b. The water dispenser must be connected to a permanent supply of potable water. 3. c. The water supply must be indicated on the plans and installed per code. 4. d. A clear floor space shall be provided for the cooler in compliance with chapter 6 of ICC A117.1. 5. e. A permanently mounted disposable cup dispenser shall be installed adjacent to the cooler with the dispensing end between 34" and 48" above finish floor and show the clear floor space complying to chapter 3 ICC A117.1 section 602.4. 6. NOTE: waste line shall also be necessary to be connected to this drinking fountain j. Restroom for the Realty Business next door. i. Please show the location of the restroom for this space. ii. If these restrooms are shared by this Tattoo/Piercing establishment, Realty establishment and the Warehouse in the back, please illustrate how this is being accomplished. 2. RESTROOM a. The As-Built Floor Plan shows the water closet in the upper left. However, the Existing Handicap Restroom Dimension drawings shows the lavatory in the upper left and shows the water closet side by side with the lavatory while the as-built floor plan shows them opposite to each other and facing each other. Please correct this discrepancy. 3. SERVICE COUNTER a. Provide drawings illustrating the following: b. The tops of work surfaces shall be 28 inches min & 34 inches max above the floor per ICC A117.1 sec 902.4. c. Sec 306.3.3 Knee clearance shall be 11 inches min in depth at 9 inches above the floor, and 8 inches min in depth at 27 inches above the floor. d. Sec 306.2.4 Additional toe clearance space extending greater than 6 inches beyond the available knee clearance at 9 inches above the floor. e. Sec 306.3 Knee clearance shall be 30 inches min in width. f. 904.3.2 Parallel approach, the counter surface 36 inches min length. g. 904.3.3 Forward approach, the counter surface 30 inches min length. 4. FIRE PARTITION a. Provide detail drawings for the following walls. b. Tenant separation using fire partition with fire-resistance rating of not less than 1 hour per IBC 402.4.2.1 and IBC 708 extend from the top of the foundation or floor/ceiling assembly below to the underside of the floor or roof sheathing, deck or slab above shall have penetration complying to IBC 714 and joints complying with IBC 715 protected by an approved fire-resistant joint system to resist the passage of fire for a time period not less than the required fire-resistance rating of the wall, floor or roof in or between which the system is installed. c. This apply for the wall north of space, wall against the realtor office and the wall against the warehouse. 5. Please resubmit. |

The previous approved CofO was for a hair salon and there appears to be significant floorplan changes. Permit: T08OT02583. 2. Provide as-built electrical plans that show compliance with the relevant IEBC chapter 10, and NEC for change of use from hair salon to a tattoo parlor. 2024 IEBC 1007.4 Number of electrical outlets. Where the occupancy of an existing building or part of an existing building is changed, the number of electrical outlets shall comply with NFPA 70 for the new occupancy. The number of outlets that are inherent to an area undergoing a change of occupancy must meet NFPA 70 requirements for the new occupancy. 3. Provide a panel schedule, showing all existing circuits that and any that are added, removed or modified. NEC arts;300 and 408.4. Include panel bus rating and A.I.C. rating. IBC 107.1. 4. Designate the circuit number on the electrical plans, that corresponds to the panel schedule, at the location of each existing, receptacles, etc., NEC arts;300 and 408.4. IBC 107.1. Each electrical outlet should be labeled by panel and circuit number. |
