This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Provide updated Plans/calculations and a written response Letter to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Resubmitted plans that do not contain a written response Letter addressing each of the notated items indicating action taken, may be delayed until response letter is received. Code reference, 2018 International Building Code (IBC), 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC), International Residential Code (IRC). 1. Show locations of each smoke alarm, IRC R310 [NFPA 72]. Notate that all smoke alarms must be interconnected with a power source from the building wiring and be equipped with battery backup. 2. Smoke alarms are required outside each separate sleeping area, IRC R314.3. Show a smoke alarm in each bedroom and outside the doorway in the immediate vicinity. 3. Provide Protection of all interior 15A & 20A circuits serving all outlet locations (except garage, and bathrooms) including receptacles, lights and smoke detectors with combination type arc-fault circuit interrupters, NEC 210.12(A). This includes kitchen outlets. 4. Show receptacle outlets not more than 12” below the (island/peninsular) countertop with the countertop not extending more than 6” beyond the receptacle surface, NEC 210.52(C)(3), 210.52(C)(5).
