| 12/02/2024 | Commercial Plumbing | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | 1. According to the manufacturer’s specification sheet, the specified lavatory faucet (Kohler K-13461-KS) is not a metering faucet. Specify a metering faucet. [Initial comment: The specified lavatory faucet, LAV-1, does not appear to be a metering faucet. Provide a metering faucet for the lavatory, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.] 2. Per Table C404.5.1, IECC 2018, the maximum distance from the heat source (e.g. a hot water recirculation loop) to the public lavatory faucet is 2 feet with a ½” supply (6 feet if you insist on using a ¼” supply). See Detail 2/P01-02 for a good example of how to plumb a lavatory in a public restroom and coordinate your hot water supply design and your keynotes on sheet P20-02. [Initial comment: Verify that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for the public lavatories complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018.] |
