The specified tankless water heater will produce 8.9 GPM of hot water with a temperature rise of 80°F and it has a maximum flowrate of 13.2 GPM. The pressure drop across the water heater is over 25 PSI at 13.2 GPM. The calculated hot water demand for your system is approximately 16 GPM: how will a single tankless water heater satisfy the hot water demand? Consult the manufacturer’s instructions for designing the hot water system. Reference: Section 303.2 and 604.3, IPC 2018. 3. Unless the existing restroom has an independent source of hot water, both lavatories will need to have a maximum distance of 24” from the circulating hot water loop. Provide a means of balancing the hot water flow to the branches serving the lavatories in the public restrooms or modify the system to have only one hot water circulation loop.
