Provide sufficient information to determine if the ventilation calculations comply with the requirements of Sections 403.3.1.1.2.3.1 through 403.3.1.1.2.3.4, IMC 2018 (e.g., for a multiple zone recirculation system). 2. Clarify the operation of the exhaust fan for the new restroom. Will it be controlled by the occupancy sensor or a manual switch? The electrical design didn’t provide power for it. 3. 10/14/2024 | Commercial Plumbing | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | 1. The Water Supply Diagram shows a 1-1/2” DCW pipe serving the new plumbing fixtures but the Water Supply Plan calls for a 1-1/4” DCW pipe to serve the new plumbing fixtures. Please clarify. 2. Hand wash sinks in a kitchen do not require the installation of a metering faucet. Contact the Pima County Health Department to determine if a metering faucet will be allowed. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson. 3. The Plumbing Connection Schedule labels the floor sink as P-4 and P-5 as the 3-compartment sink, but on the plumbing plans, the labels are reversed. 4. Note #8 of the Waste and Vent Plan is confusing. It calls for the contractor to verify if an existing drain line is 3” and, if not “replace with 5” and connect to existing 4” drain.” Any fitting or connection in a drainage system that results in a reduction of the pipe area is prohibited. Reference: Section 706.2, IPC 2018. 5. The design of the water heater piping as shown in detail 5/P1.0, with a shutoff valve located between the water heater and the expansion tank, makes it impossible for the expansion tank to accommodate the thermal expansion of the water within the water heater, as intended by Section 607.3, IPC 2018. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2018. 6. Verify that the distance from the hot water source (i.e. the hot water recirculation loop) to the hot water termination for the new public lavatory complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018. 7. If the 3-compartment sink is used for the preparation of food items, separate indirect waste pipes shall be provided for each compartment to protect against cross-contamination or fouling and each indirect drain shall terminate with an air gap. Reference: Sections 801.2, 802.1.1, and 802.1.7, IPC 2018. 8. The venting arrangement for P-6 (labeled P-8 in the waste and vent diagram) does not appear to be one of the approved venting arrangements noted in Chapter 9, IPC 2018. Reference: Section 901.2.1, IPC 2018. 9. Contact PC Industrial Wastewater Control (Lucinda.Hyatt@pima.gov) to determine if a broken glass interceptor will be required for the new wine production area. |
