Appliances (e.g. beverage dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.14.1, IPC 2024 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2024 2. The Plumbing Specification (P3.0) for water disinfection is incomplete. A water disinfection report is required and shall include the results of a bacteriological examination by a licensed testing laboratory of the water in the revised water distribution system after the chlorine has been purged from the system. Section 610.1 of the 2024 International Plumbing Code describes the testing requirements. 3. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.1.5, IPC 2024 and shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.1.1 and 708.1.9, IPC 2024. 4. Provide indirect waste piping for the food prep sink, E51.2. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2024. 5. A hand wash sink located in the kitchen area shall either discharge through a grease interceptor or have a sign posted above it stating: “HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATIONOR DISHWASHING ALLOWED”. Reference: Section 1003.3(A), IPC 2024 as amended by the City of Tucson.
