Calculations shall be prepared, signed, and sealed by the registered design professional responsible for the structural design and shall demonstrate compliance with the applicable provisions of the 2024 International Building Code. For example, new openings and lintels in existing masonry walls, air curtain support, joist reinforcing for additional rooftop loads. 2024 IBC Section 107.2.1 – Construction documents shall contain sufficient information to demonstrate compliance with the applicable code. 2. Please provide a project specific statement of special inspections on the plans for this project, stating requirements for the special inspections and required tests. 2024 IBC Sections IBC 107.2.1, IBC 1704, IBC 1705 Even though the project manual contains this information, please print on the plans for our field inspector’s use. 3. Non-Structural Interior Modular Walls and Ceiling Provide complete construction information for the proposed non-structural modular interior wall and ceiling systems serving the pharmacy. In accordance with 2024 IBC Section 107.2.1, identify the manufacturer/system and provide sufficient details and specifications to verify compliance with the applicable requirements of the code. Provide the following: A. Modular wall system: Identify the wall construction, materials, thickness, height, panel construction, framing/support system, and method of attachment to the existing building structure and floor. B. Ceiling system: Identify the ceiling type, materials, suspension system, attachment, and maximum permitted span/loading. Provide details for conditions where the modular ceiling interfaces with the existing building ceiling or structure. C. Interior finish: Identify the exposed wall and ceiling finish materials and provide documentation demonstrating compliance with 2024 IBC Chapter 8, including the applicable flame-spread and smoke-developed requirements. D. Fire-resistance: Clearly indicate whether any modular walls or ceiling assemblies are intended or required to provide a fire-resistance or smoke-resistance rating. Where a rated assembly is required, provide the applicable tested/listed assembly and installation details. Do not identify a modular system as fire-resistance-rated without providing the applicable listing or approved assembly. E. Structural attachment: Although the walls and ceiling are identified as non-structural, provide sufficient information to demonstrate that the systems are adequately supported and attached to the existing building without adversely affecting existing structural elements. For example, show the interior walls and partitions that exceed 6 feet in height, including their finish materials, shall have adequate strength and stiffness to resist the loads to which they are subjected but not less than a horizontal load of 5 psf. 2024 IBC Section 1607.16 F. Provide product data, manufacturer installation requirements, ICC ESR number, typical wall and ceiling sections, and attachment details as necessary to verify the proposed construction. 2024 IBC Section 107.2.1 – Construction documents shall contain sufficient information to demonstrate compliance with the applicable code. While ventilation calculations are not required, a test and balance report is required to verify that the total supply airflow and the outside airflow are at least equal to that which the previous AC unit provided.
